The notion of terroir is the combination of natural elements that work together in a biological ecosystem to create a harmonious culmination…. a product. This product expresses the essence of the earth where it is from. When the expressions are aggregately viewed, they become a community, each with a unique contribution to the culture.
A few words about
the culture
Paralleling the theory of “fashion” versus “style.” Fashion is something that is trendy and dictated in the mass media by what is popular during the current season or moment, and universally accepted by everyone. Whereas style is contingent upon the individual, an expression that has been subjugated to the personal perspective, experience and lifestyle.
The CULTURE is something that has attempted to be perpetuated in mass media, ridiculed, sequentially chopped up, re-engineered, imitated and accepted by the majority. However, at the center beats a rhythmic soul that has touched every aspect of life, something that can not be copied – for it is in “us.”
The block, the corner, the concrete, 10 toes to ground - the street. A place where we come together and politic over current events in a joking way - not for the thin skinned. Forged in stone.
